Tone deTox
Tone deTox is a colon cleanser that claims to help you lose weight and cleanse your colon as well as offers to send you a free trial offer of the cleanser before you purchase anything.
But after we saw that Tone deTox wants your credit card information before it gives you its “free” product, we decided to do a little research before we signed up.
What Does Tone deTox Do?
Although Tone deTox originally claims to be a “complete colon cleansing and liver detoxification system,” it also promises to do almost everything else on the spectrum.
Whether it’s simply “flushing away waste and toxins,” or “flattening your stomach,” Tone deTox really promises to be able to do it all. It also claims to be able to reduce headaches and irritability, boost your energy, reduce gas and bloating, and even maintain cholesterol levels.
Anything To Be Worried About?
Even though we have nothing against a product attempting to be a cure-all, we expect to see a very impressive ingredient list in order to accomplish all those things.
So we took a look at Tone deTox’s label to see if they had anything extraordinary to offer. Two things we did find that were encouraging was Glucomannan and Green Tea.
These ingredients are paired together in many weight loss supplements because Glucomannan swells in your stomach and makes smaller meals feel larger, causing you to eat less. And Green Tea helps stimulate your metabolism, helping you burn more calories, and thus lose more weight.
However, Green Tea and Glucomannan are not usually the main ingredients for weight loss as they don’t work well in large amounts.
After looking through the rest of Tone deTox’s ingredients, we didn’t see anything else that promised to be able to help you lose large amounts of weight.
Would You Recommend Tone deTox?
Not only did we not find enough ingredients to make us believe that Tone deTox could follow through on all its promises that it made to its potential customers, but we also found the ingredient, Senna which is potentially dangerous.
The FDA banned the use of Senna in all over the counter laxatives because it can cause abdominal pains, bloating, and even diarrhea. With all the healthy colon cleansers out there, we don’t think you should have to use a product that exaggerates its claims and could be harmful.
