T2 Xtreme
T2 Xtreme has been marketed by SAN nutrition to be a fat burner in the bodybuilding world, giving you results which were “previously unthinkable outside of dangerous and illegal prescription drugs.”
Although SAN has certainly tried to build T2 Xtreme’s reputation as the most intense weight loss supplement on the market, we wanted to see what this product could really do when put to the test.
So we did some research to find out whether or not T2 Xtreme can live up to its hype.
The Good
Unlike so many other supplements that claim to be as extreme as illegal drugs and then turn out to be just as dangerous, T2 Xtreme seems like it has a pretty safe approach to weight loss.
According to SAN, T2 Xtreme works to stimulate your metabolism by boosting the thyroid stimulating hormone, or thyroxine, in the body.
Thyroxine has been shown to increase the body’s ability to convert its fat stores into energy, and has thus been able to improve weight loss. Those who have a thyroid problem often receive injections of thyroxine and have seen weight loss as well as other health benefits with these injections.
The Bad
Unfortunately, T2 Xtreme doesn’t supply you with a direct source of thyroxine but rather a chemical that is supposed to stimulate the body’s own production of the thyroid stimulating hormone.
The chemical that T2 Xtreme uses has been derived from the liver of cows and has not been proven to be incredibly successful.
However, even if it does show itself to be effective, we don’t think that the effects of weight loss will last for long enough to make T2 Xtreme worth your while.
When the body’s production of any hormones is suddenly stimulated by outside sources, it naturally slows, if not stops, its own production of the hormone. This will mean that you have less thyroxine and a slower metabolism than ever.
The Skinny
Even though you might see marginal results from T2 Xtreme, we are quite sure that these effects won’t persist, and you will most likely gain back any weight lost from T2 Xtreme.
