Sculpt’N Cleanse Colon Cleansing Formula
Although its ingredients, as well as its effects, would generally be categorized as a colon cleanser, and nothing more, Health Direct is marketing Sculpt’N Cleanse Colon Cleansing Formula as an agent that will give you all the benefits of a colon cleanse, while also being the “first step to a better body” for you.
Its colon cleansing side is supposed to be able to help flush out harmful toxins, chemicals, dangerous pollutants and even poisons from your body.
But its weight loss side, with no other ingredients that have been shown to help you drop those elusive pounds, is supposed to sculpt a “better body” from the other, more inferior we assume, body you’re already lugging around.
Does It Do What It Says?
We’re not buying it. As a nutritional supply company, Health Direct should know that colon cleansers, in their most basic form, are not designed to help you lose significant amounts of weight.
Although it is expected to lose some weight as you get rid of intestinal buildup and water weight, any colon cleanser or laxative that is promising to help you drop a few pant sizes is either lying to you, or going to make you so sick that you can’t leave the bathroom to eat.
Is It Dangerous?
At a first glance, the ingredients aloe, rhubarb, cascara sagrada and senna, might look like harmless herbal supplements. However, two of these ingredients have been shown to be more dangerous than their plant-derived nature might seem.
In 2002, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a ban on aloe and cascara sagrada’s use in laxatives; the two ingredients had been found to give their consumers abdominal pain and severe diarrhea. Cascara sagrada is even thought to be a potential carcinogen.
All in all, we don’t think that a company, who is going to lie to you and use ingredients that have been proven to be harmful, doesn’t deserve your trust or your business.
