Dexedrine
Dexedrine is a prescription treatment for ADHD and narcolepsy, and some say that it is also an appetite suppressant that can be used in combination with a healthy diet and exercise program to lose weight.
But if you refer to other, similar treatments, it would only be used as a bandaid treatment for short term use to jump start your program and not as anything else.
Does Dexedrine Have Any Side Effects?
Users of Dexedrine have been known to experience side effects like headaches, jitteriness, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, indigestion, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, facial flushing, insomnia, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, and an elevated heartbeat, which are all associated with caffeine.
But some have also reported more serious side effects like heart attacks, heart disease, high blood pressure or cholesterol, seizures, depression, mood changes, ticks, sexual changes, and other potentially serious problems both short and long term.
Conclusion
With all of the side effects surrounding Dexedrine, not all of which can always be predicted, there’s a reason why it is only available by prescription. It can be extremely addictive, causing dependency and other potentially serious issues.
Its effectiveness is largely debatable, especially with no official clinical studies on its ability to promote weight loss.
If you happen to lose weight while taking Dexedrine for another official use (such as ADHD or narcolepsy), then good for you as long as you actually want to lose weight of course. But outside of that, there are plenty of other natural and prescription weight loss pills that are safer and seemingly more effective.
