BodyMedia
BodyMedia reminds me of those infomercial products that come on late at night and seem appealing at the time.
But then you think about it, just for a minute at first, and you realize that it’s not as good as it seems when the guy on TV talks about it. Or maybe you actually order it, and you go through buyer’s remorse when you realize that you just spent $250 on an armband!
But ripoff report aside, the major question is, does BodyMedia help you to lose “3 times the weight”? Some of us would pay a lot more than $250 to get that. If you’ve read some of my other reviews, you know that there are plenty of options that cost about $30-$50 and produce serious results. But why not an arm band.
What Does BodyMedia Do?
BodyMedia is not a weight loss supplement. Let’s get that out of the way now. It does not burn fat, suppress appetite, build muscle, or enhance the thyroid or anything else. It does not block carbs or fat, and it does not take any other common approaches.
Instead, it tracks your movement, eating, and sleeping habits. You have to put your daily meals into a smartphone app, which will tell you how many calories you eat each day. And of course, the app tells you how many calories you should be eating, and once you plug the arm band into your computer, it adjust that number by comparing your calorie burning to your food intake.
How BodyMedia Can Help
If you know what you’re doing wrong, you can fix it. So for example, if you are eating too much or eating too much fat, BodyMedia might tell you if you really report all that you do. If you’re not exercising enough but your dieting habits are acceptable, it can tell you that. And if you want to keep eating more calories, obviously it can give you an idea of how much exercise would be need to balance that out.
How BodyMedia Will Not Help
But it’s not going to help you to make up for imperfections. For example, if you believe that you have a slower than normal metabolism or you just feel as though you have aged, BodyMedia is just a machine.
It does not actually help you to change the way your body works if it’s working against you. Most people buy diet pills, because you’ve tried diet and exercise and you want something more.
Conclusion
BodyMedia only gives you information. It does not have the extra tools that will help you to successfully lose weight. And products that do sell for a fraction of the cost.
BodyMedia is like the bad infomercial product, and it has the bad infomercial price. The only difference is that BodyMedia hasn’t paid for the infomercials, and there are no payment plans to make the price seem like less.
