4 Day Diet
Simplicity, that’s a good thing right, and even something that we need, and with a name like the 4 Day Diet, it sounds like it has both simplicity and quick results in one!
But don’t get too excited. The 4 Day Diet does not help you to lose a ton of weight in just 4 days. The 4 Day Diet is instead made up of several cycles, each of which lasts 4 days, for a total of 28 days all together.
But can a diet with only 4 days in each cycle and so many changes be effective?
How the 4 Day Diet Works
The concept behind the 4 Day Diet is very simple. It’s the P90X of diet plans, because the idea is if you keep changing your diet plan every so often, you will actually lose more. It starts you out with a detox phase, getting you started, eliminating cravings, and otherwise getting other weight loss results in a short period of time.
Then it supposedly eases you into easier lifestyle habits, helping you to lose more weight and improve the way you function. Of course, if you actually look at the different phases, most are not that different, and interestingly enough, the later phases actually become stricter, which is ironic considering this is supposed to lead you into long term lifestyle changes.
And while it may sound good, many experts don’t think that the 4 Day Diet is actually safe or effective.
Scientific Evidence Behind a Changing Diet
The first problem that many experts have is the fact that the whole concept behind the 4 Day Diet is flawed. Most experts and studies have found that a steady diet is actually more effective than a changing diet.
So for example, if you eat the same thing every day, pending the idea that it is healthy, you are more likely to lose weight and keep it off than if you follow something like this. And there’s one more major thing.
The 4 Day Diet Cuts Too Many Calories
Second, the 4 Day Diet cuts calories, sometimes telling consumers to go below healthy limits. The 4 Day Diet has phases that don’t even provide you with the recommended 1200 to 1300 calories a day! In other words, you are starving yourself, your metabolism will actually slow down, and you may end up gaining weight again later on.
Should You Use the 4 Day Diet?
The 4 Day Diet focuses on tactics that sound good, claiming that you will not fail. But the simple reality is that the 4 Day Diet is just another scam that doesn’t work out.
If anything, it plays on all of the major reasons why people fail, and it accentuates the things that make diets that much harder. There are plenty of reasons why you should not use the 4 Day Diet, but not many reasons why you should.
